Agility is the best known of the sporting dog branches.
It is very popular in our country and abroad, so it is a great thing for us that at the WUSV 2023 World Championships, this sport was also qualified as World Champion alongside IGP.
Agility is spectacular but far from easy. During the course walk, the handler has 8 minutes to memorise the course and plan the dog’s route. The course is built up before the race at the judge’s discretion, so the competitors never know what challenge they will face.
The relationship between dog and handler is very close during agility races, as the dog has to pay attention to both verbal and physical cues in addition to the obstacles. The final result of the races is often decided by 1 to 1 small mistake or a tenth of a second, with the winner always being the fastest pair without mistakes.
